Building management
How much notice is required for a building owners' meeting in Türkiye?
Short answer
An extraordinary meeting of the unit owners' board must be called at least fifteen days before the meeting date, by a notice signed by all owners or by registered letter, stating the reason for the meeting.
Details
- The board meets with more than half of the owners by number and by land share, and decides by majority vote.
- If there is no quorum at the first meeting, the second is held no earlier than seven and no later than fifteen days afterwards; decisions are then taken by an absolute majority of those attending.
- The first notice also states the place and date of the second meeting.
- Each unit owner has one vote regardless of land share.
- In buildings with forty or fewer units, one person can act as proxy for at most two owners.
Legal basis
- Condominium Law No. 634, Articles 29, 30 and 31
