What is the title deed fee in Türkiye and who pays it?
Short answer
The title deed fee is 4% of the sale price in total: 2% from the buyer and 2% from the seller.
Details
- The fee is calculated on the sale price declared at the land registry.
- By law each party pays its own share; in practice the parties sometimes agree that the buyer pays all of it.
- The fee is paid before the transfer.
- The land registry also charges a service fee, which is not part of this fee.
Example
On a home sold for 4,000,000 TL the total fee is 160,000 TL, or 80,000 TL per party.
